Old Siwa- Shali
Shali was the capital of the Siwa Oasis during the Middle Ages. Its unique structures are built with karshef—a salt and clay mixture. The buildings melt into their desert background.

Gebel Al-Mawta
This small hill is called Gebel Al-Mawta from being a honeycomb of tombs. It’s not hard to see why its name translates to “Mountain of the Dead”. The tombs here are home to many wall paintings worth viewing.

Alexander Temple
Built by Alexander the Great, this temple was dedicated to the Egyptian god Amun, whom the Greeks associated with Zeus.

Cleopatra’s Bath
This natural hot spring is a tourist hotspot in Siwa, said to be where the famed Queen Cleopatra used to bathe.
