Saqqara is considered the first pyramid in Egypt and the first rock-cut building structure in history. Standing at 62 meters, The Saqqara pyramid is the tallest step pyramid in the world! You will also find several other monuments at this site, such as the pyramid complex of Unas and Userkaf and tombs belonging to high-ranking officials of the Pharaonic era. Sakkara
Step Pyramid of King Djoser- This pyramid was built by the Pharaoh Djoser and designed by Imhotep. It is about 62.5 m (205 ft) tall and is made of 6 steps. Beneath the pyramid is a labyrinth of chambers and galleries that are about 6km in length. It is known as the first freestanding stone structure in the world.
There are also many tombs belonging to nobles near the Step Pyramid. Each tombs’ walls are covered with colorful paintings and hieroglyphics depicting daily life in Ancient Egypt.

Dahshur
The royal necropolis of Dahshur is home to many pyramids. Perhaps the most significant pyramid here is the Bent Pyramid, as it was the ancient Egyptians’ first attempt at building smooth-sided pyramids.
The Bent Pyramid was built by King Sneferu. After this failed attempt at a true pyramid, King Sneferu ordered the building of the Red Pyramid, which is the second pyramid located at this site.
These are the most famous pyramids in Dahshur. However, there are also White, Black, and many other pyramids there.
